Every locatiirrsirctronii l{ashrngton is"expected to respond tofoodborne illnessoutbreal$, food safety inquiries and provide preventative educationfor the general piblic and technical assistance.o Sewage Safety (FPHS definitions B'3'e-fl - Respond to sewage concerns and public health threats and provide technical assistance that are notappropriatelyfunded to ensure that sewage is handled appropriately to limit potential exposure to sewage. Every local jurisdiction in LTashington isexpected to ensure sewage is properly managed- on-Site Septic (oSS) permiiting, enforclment and providing teihnical assistance and education to oSSowners are fee funded activities and should be funded through fees or local govirnment who sets th-e fees. T\ese FpHS funds provide resources to supportactivitiesforwhich afee cannot be charged such as: responding to osSfailures, surfacing sewage, oSS safety concerns, and similar issues. Thesefundscan also be usedfor concerns related to large on-site sewage systems, oiher OSS-reiatedioncerns that do not involve locally permittable systems, and othersewage-related issues, regardless of whether they lye related to a fee-for-service activity.
