Cook <br />V%KKO-18 V51010I t : erM <br />Direct staff implementing actions identified by Diamond Parking contained in the <br />recently received "Hyak Parking Consulting Project Report". <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />• Public Works (PW) recently received the project report from Diamond Parking <br />evaluating parking issues in Hyak. <br />• Strategies and alternatives along with policy actions are contained in the report. <br />• Short term actions for immediate consideration and long-term actions for <br />additional evaluation make up the recommendations of the report. <br />• Diamond Parking interviewed numerous stakeholders developing the report. <br />• Public Works has already begun implementation of recommended short-term <br />actions. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Responding to persistent illegal parking problems in Hyak, PW sought out the services of <br />Diamond Parking, the nation' oldest parking consultant. PW prepared the project scope <br />of work and supporting Diamond throughout the project. Key to finding the scale and <br />scope of the project, the following stakeholders were interviewed for their perspectives <br />on the problem: <br />• United States Forest Service (USFS) <br />• Washington State Parks (WSP) <br />• Kittitas County Sheriff's Office (KSO) <br />• Snoqualmie Pass Public Utility District (SPUD) <br />• Snoqualmie Pass Fire and Rescue (SPF&R) <br />• The Summit at Snoqualmie <br />• Kittitas County Department of Public Works <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Public Works "Work Session Staff Report", 2021 <br />
