Subsequent amendment of state law, or identification by the state of new information concerning
critical areas, or the listing by the state of new threatened, endangered, or sensitive species will not
be deemed by the county to automatically amend this chapter. This chapter is based upon the law,
information, public comment, and scientific study as of the date of its adoption. A change in any of
these factors may lead to future amendment of this chapter, but only after complying with the
normal requirements for amending county ordinances. It is the policy of Kittitas County to insure that
any amendments to this chapter will only occur after landowners and county residents have an
opportunity for significant participation and consultation.
