(RCW <br />36.70A.170 and 36.70A.060.) In adopting these regulations, the county has considered the guidelines <br />established pursuant to RCW 36.70A.050. (Ord. 94-22 (part), 1994). <br />17A.01.015 Purpose and objectives. <br />This critical areas chapter is intended to set forth the procedure by which critical areas are <br />designated, and to protect critical areas, pursuant to RCW 36.70A.170 (designation) and RCW <br />36.70A.060 (development regulations). All regulations established herein may not prohibit uses <br />permitted prior to their adoption and shall remain in effect until Kittitas County adopts permanent <br />development regulations pursuant to RCW 36.70A.120. (RCW 36.70A.060(1)). (Ord. 94-22 (part), <br />1994). <br />17A.01.020 New critical areas. <br />This critical areas chapter is based upon Washington State law and the various maps and regulations <br />referenced herein as of the date of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter.
