during construction, revegetation with native vegetation may be required. The Kittitas County <br />noxious weed ordinance shall be adhered to. (Ord. 94-22 (part), 1994). <br />17A.04.040 Allowed uses. <br />In addition to exempt activities otherwise identified herein, the following activities are allowed to <br />occur on wetland and wetland buffer areas: nonmotorized outdoor recreational activities including <br />hunting and fishing; educational activities; existing and ongoing agricultural activities, silviculture and <br />mining; and maintenance of existing facilities, structures, ditches, roads, bridges and other utility <br />systems. Up to two acres of Class IV wetlands may be filled, drained or modified with no approval <br />required from the planning manager. If more than two acres of Class IV wetlands are filled, drained <br />or modified, approval of the planning manager is required. Such development activity shall provide <br />mitigation in accordance with Section 17A.04.050 for that portion of the wetland fill or modification <br />that exceeds two acres. Category IV wetlands may be used for secondary stormwater management <br />facilities having no reasonable alternative on-site location, provided there is no significant adverse <br />impact to the functions and values of those wetlands. (Ord. 95-15 (part), 1995; Ord. 94-22 (part), <br />1994). <br />17A.04.045 Building setback lines from wetland buffers. <br />A building setback line equal to the side yard setback requirement of the applicable zoning district is <br />required from the edge of any wetland buffer. Minor intrusions into the area of the building setback <br />may be allowed if the director determines that such intrusions will not negatively impact the wetland. <br />The setbacks shall be shown on all site plans submitted with the application. (Ord. 94-22 (part), <br />1994). <br />17A.04.050 Wetland replacement ratios. <br />Wetland replacement ratios are expressed in gross area required for replacement. The actual <br />replacement, enhancement or rehabilitation of wetlands shall be determined by the director and <br />meet all applicable standards for such. Replacement areas shall be determined according to function, <br />acreage, type, location, time factors, ability to be self sustaining and projected success.
