KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE AND MAINTENANCE MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 2:00 PM Angus 10, 2021 <br />Board members present: Brett Wachsmith, Chairman, Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman and <br />Commissioner Cory Wright. <br />Others: Doug Mitchell, Neil Caulkins, Patti Stacey, Mandy Buchholz, and Lisa Lawrence <br />Meeting called to order at 2:00 p.m. <br />Bowling Alley Committee discussion and decision - 1 (One) members from each of the <br />Commissioner Districts; 1 (one) member from the City of Ellensburg; the Event Center <br />Director, the Maintenance, Director and, the Chair, who will be a member of the Board of <br />County Commissioners. The Committee will be staffed by the consultant. Mandy went over <br />the applications received stating there was only one application for District 1 and District 2 and <br />one for the City of Ellensburg. Commissioner Wright made a motion to appoint Scott Carlson for <br />District 1, Jerald Dougherty for District 2, Frederick Springsteen for District 3, and Bruce Tabb <br />for the City of Ellensburg. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion. Commissioner Wright <br />amended the motion to include Commissioner Wachsmith as Chair of the Committee. <br />Commissioner Wachsmith seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. <br />Update on new Transfer Station. Patti informed the Board that the project is moving along <br />except because of Covid and weather issues the Contractor is having trouble getting the electrical <br />conduit needed and that the costs have double/tripled since they originally ordered it. Discussion <br />was held on the 5000 feet of conduit needed, the cost per foot going up from 3.22 per foot to <br />6.40 per foot, holding up the project, and not being able to finalize the Short Plat. The Board <br />directed Patti to move forward with the project. <br />Update on Paradigm/Accepting Credit Cards at Transfer Stations. Lisa gave the Board an <br />update on accepting credit cards at the Transfer Stations that she has sent the requested <br />information that the Paradigm software is a pass through to IT and is waiting to hear back from <br />them on the next steps. <br />Discussion on Hours/ days of week transfer station is open. Discussion was held on hours of <br />operation at the Cle Elum Transfer Station including the number of customers vs the number of <br />customers in Ellensburg, that it is getting busier and time to start looking at opening an <br />2021-08-10 MINUTES 1 <br />
