Many children with devetopmental disabilities live in singte parent famities further limiting the <br />time and resources these families must seek and use existing services <br />. A greater number of Hispanic children and families are entering the service system and witl <br />continue to do so, creating access and cutturalty appropriate practice chattenges for the <br />service system. <br />r Most adult persons with cognitive disabitities in Kittitas County live with their families rather <br />than independentty or in supported residential placements. As baby boomer parents age, <br />community responsibitity for vutnerabte adults wi[[ increase. <br />. Peopte with developmental disabitities are often not involved in decisions that affect them <br />. lt's difficutt and compticated to know what seryices are avaitabte and how to access them <br />o High rate of no-paid case load <br />r lnteractions with law enforcement often have poor outcomes <br />19
