Communities that would like to participate in
the Community Rating System (CRS) or apply to for hazard mitigation grants are
required to have an updated Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The Community Rating System (CRS) is a program offered by the National Flood
Insurance Program which rewards communities that implement certain activities to
reduce the impacts of flooding with lower flood insurance rates.
CRS communities are also required to report annually on their progress implementing the
Hazard Mitigation Plan. Last year, Kittitas County staff reported on progress
implementing the County -Wide and Kittitas County mitigation initiatives. This year, all
planning partners were asked to report on their implementation progress.
