References and Resources Grant Funding Opportunities Federal Funding Sources • US Dept. of Housing & Urban Development - Community Development Block Grants (CDBGs) I Grants to improve community facilities and services, especially in low- and moderate -income areas. • US Dept. of Agriculture - Rural Development - Community Facilities Programs I Funds to construct, expand or improve facilities that provide health care, education, public safety, and public services. • National Parks - Land and Water Conservation Fund I Federal funding to State and Local agencies to safeguard natural areas, water resources and cultural heritage, and to provide recreation opportunities. • Federal Highway Administration — Surface Transportation Block Grant Program (STBG) & Recreational Trails Program (RTP) I The TA Set -Aside authorizes funding for programs defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non -driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities such as historic preservation and vegetation management, and environmental mitigation related to stormwater and habitat connectivity; recreational trail projects; and safe routes to school projects.
