To help ensure that \/e are rneeling or.ir goals, wc <br />produce both large events and smallel activities. These everrts ancl activitres are <br />promoted with lhe supporl of local lodging services who in turn are cross-promoting <br />and broadcast our activities through their social media tools, reaching audiences <br />S0-nrjles or farther. The National Main Street Cerrter Folrr Point Approach, which <br />our association follorars, includes supporting the merchant community with econornic <br />goals ihat include planning er;ents and activities to increase retail sales and <br />visrtors. One of the primary ways in wirich this is achieverl is thror"rgh the use of <br />social nredia and rnternel-based marketing tools, <br />To nreet the challenges that COVID 19 broughl in regards to large events, the Cle <br />Elum Downtoran Association rapidly changed up or:r efforts in altracting visitors ancJ <br />encouraging overnight stays by increasing our social media outreach and providing <br />solid retail evenls that allowed visitors to participate, <br />During the extrenre COVID 19 Phase 2 and Phase 3 period, Cle Flurrr Do\^nto\tun <br />has celebrateci the opening ofsixsnrall businesses and seen lhe closure offour_ <br />Of the four spaces that are now empty, hlo have been reclainted and will be <br />reopening as new retarl businesses. This impact and the growing interest in vacarrt <br />buildings are being actively looke d at by potential bi:yers and new business owner.s <br />as tveli as through erylansion projects or second business ventures by existing <br />business o\A.flers. <br />Over the past year. the Cle Elum Downtown Associatton has r,r,orkeci to build a <br />stronger relationship u,rth our hotel and lodging services to engage in the <br />dovlntom community.
