813112021 newspaper-text (z).html <br />Public Notice <br />Kittitas Countp Ellensburg WA <br />Barn and Garage Demolition and Salvage <br />AII submittals received after 4:00 PM tr'riday, October \2A21, will be discarded <br />PURPOSE <br />Kittitas County Department of Public Works is seeking demolition services removing one barn and one garagq salvaging <br />associated materials, disposing of unsalvageable materials, and removing all materials within the identified vicinity of these <br />structures. <br />SCOPE OF PROJECT <br />Two buildings will be demolished, salvage rights for the demolished buildings will belong to the selected service provider <br />(PROVIDER), and unsalvageable materials will be ploperly disposed by the service provider. The two buildings to be <br />demolished include l) a2,484 square-fbot barn-built ca. 1900, andZ) a 280 square-fbot garage with stained wooden shiplap, <br />with some areas of vertical wood board and some areas of plywood. Building photos are provided in Appendix A. <br />These structures are located on parcel 508933, at73l Stone Rd., Ellensburg Washington. The site is south of the city of <br />Ellensburg. This project is scheduled to commence in Fall or Winter 202I. AII tasks must be completed by February 28, <br />2022. <br />The work to be performed under this contract consists of the following general tasks. <br />1) Permits and Fees <br />PROVIDER is responsible for all permits, fees, inspections, and appror.als necessary to demolish the buildings as outlined <br />by the standards established by federal, state, and local authorities. Kittitas County has already conducted the necessary <br />cultural resources consultation necessary to demolish the buildings. <br />2) Building Demolition <br />PROVIDER shall demolish and remove all above and below ground debris and appurtenances including but not limited to <br />the main structure, all footings, foundations, floors, and debris of any kind. This task includes mobilizing labor and all <br />necessary ecluipment to the site, dismantling the building so that salvageable materials can be re-used, and unsalvageable <br />materials can be disposed. <br />3) Material Salvage <br />Salvage rights belong to the PROVIDER after Notice to Proceed is issued. All portions of the demolitions must be removed, <br />to include scrap metals, concrete, and other materials. The salvaged site shall be graded flat and level sufficient for grass <br />seeding. Contractor may sell any and all materials and retain any proceeds from the sale of such materials. It is the <br />expectation of Kittitas County that any proceeds earned by PROVIDER through recycling or salvaging will offset the costs <br />of demolition services. Any plans to sell materials directly from the site will need to be first coordinated with, and approved <br />in writing, by Kittitas County Department of Public Works. <br />4) Final Cleanup <br />No debris shall be left or buried on the site. All removal from this site of debris, rubbish, and other materials resulting from <br />demolition operations must be disposed of in a legal manner. All demolition debris must be taken to a licensed landfill. All <br />landfill receipts must be turned in before final approval and payment. Excavated areas associated with the removal of all <br />substructures should be backfilled with excavated materials on site. The site shall be graded flat and level ready for grass <br />seeding. <br />A review team within Public Works will review each submittal based on the scoring criteria provided below: <br />L Detailed understanding of project scope and tasks: 40 points <br />2.
