Attachment "C" <br />Program Narrative: Kittitas County Jail MAT program <br />Statement of the Problem <br />Kittitas County SherifFs Office requests consideration for funding through the Bureau of <br />Justice Assistance's (BJA) Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and. Substance Abuse program <br />(COSSAP) under Category l, Subcategory 1c as a rural county with a population af fewer than <br />100,000. if funded, Kittitas Counly Sheriff s ofFrce proposes to expand and enhance evidence- <br />based medication-assisted treatment (MAT), as well as recovery support services within the <br />Kittitas County Jail. Kittitas County SherifFs Office serves those incarcerated, which includes <br />American lndians/Alaskan Natives, Veterans, pregnatrt and post-partum women, and <br />uninsurecUunderinsured populations. This information will be tracked and reported throughout <br />the process. <br />Kittitas County Sheriffs Office currently contracts with Whatcom Countyjail, U.S <br />Immigration and Custouts Enforcement (ICE), Washington Department of Conections (DOC), <br />and the U.S Marshals Service, of whom all house inmates regularly iaside our jail. With this <br />grant, Kittitas County Sheriff s Office will procure a contract with a MAT provider in <br />Washington state. Due to shortage of treatment provid.ers in Kittitas Counfy and the number of <br />inmates housed under contract, Kittitas County Sheriffs Office is seeking a MAT partner thaf <br />can provide services within the jail, the county, and major cities across the state of Washington. <br />A pa*ner with an extensive reach will ensure a smooth transition from jail MAT to community <br />treatment regardless of the inrnate's home location. <br />Kiuitas County Sheriffs Office currently participates in the state of Washington's <br />Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery PBHR) Hub and Spoke project.
