Dept. of Public Works
Page 2
3. There is no road condition to report on.
4. As there has been no road constructed since 1973, there appears to be no need to preserve
the rights of way for public use. The proposed vacation allows unification of separate lots for
the requestor (Benson) and the added property will add to the tax parcel calculation for the
requestor providing additional property tax revenue for the County.
5. The public is benefited by the vacation as an increase is property tax revenue results from
the vacation action.
6. There is no fair market valuation associated with this request as there is no adverse financial
impact to the County (no historic or current expense to the County for the rights of way).
7. There have been no expenditures on any of the rights of way by the County.
8. There are no utilities of record contained in any of the requested vacation of rights of way.
9. The requestor (Benson) has paid the Public Works "Road Vacation Application Fee" of
$4,205. This amount is expected to cover all costs associated with processing of the
application.
The Department of Public Works recommends the Board approves the proposed vacation of portions
of Cle Elum Road, Little Creek Road and Timber Road (EXHIBIT 2) as requested.
Dated this 15th day of June 2021,
Mark Cook, PE
Director
Public Works Department
EXHIBIT 1 - Road Vacation Application
EXHIBIT 2: Map depicting various rights of way whose vacation is sought
EXHIBIT 3: Timber Valley Plat, Division 1
C: Mr. Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer
Ms. Candie Leader, Administrative Supervisor
411 North Ruby Street, Suite 1 TEL (509) 962-7523
Ellensburg, WA 98926 FAX (509) 962-7663
