Compilation of comments received in response to request for input on the revised 2021 Recreation and
Tourism Plan
Considering KPRD1's official standing with the County, and T2T's status as a sponsored KPRD1 project, I
would like to encourage the revised PROS plan to specifically call out Towns to Teanaway under Plan
Element 1: Trail Systems. Official recognition in municipal planning documents is often a requirement for
projects like T2T to pursue grants and other funding opportunities for capital construction. I'm very glad
to see the type of project and activities generally referred to in Action Items 1.4 and 1.7 but being listed
by name would do much for our future ability to implement T2T for the further success of organized
recreation in Kittitas County.
Thank you for your consideration!
Sincerely,
Nicky Pasi (she/her)
Upper Yakima Basin Community Coordinator
Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust
(509) 656-4073
Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce via email:
Hey Nicole,
Thank you so much for looping us in on this! The plan is looking great, and we are excited that it aligns
with the work we are doing. Just a few thoughts- take what you see fit and leave the rest.
Will this be a public document once finalized? What does the timeline look like? How often will it be
updated?
Under public involvement, "Public Workshops and Forums" is listed- let us know how we can help with this,
we also have a Small Business Development Center in upper county that can be used to help facilitate
anything the Bocc sees fit.
Under Plan Element 1: Trail Systems, I noticed that a lot of the goals along with the gaps we are filling
with our project. In the following paragraph, the plan mentions working with private and public
agencies. I work closely with the Kittitas County recreation forum as well as the State's Recreate
Responsibly coalition- this is an impactful group of skilled land owners, user groups, organizations etc that
we may want to include!
On Plan Element 4: Our Strategic Role in Recreation and Tourism, who will be updating the future
population growth estimates, inventory existing and proposed facility developments? Where should this
data be kept?
Should we be listed under Action Item 11.2?
Thank you so much,
Madison Ford
Director of Tourism and Events
Cie Elum Downtown Association via email:
Page 4
