<br />THEY FIT THE RECORD WELL AND, THE RECORD BEARING AND DISTANCE CALLS WERE USED WHERE THEY DID NOT FIT

<br />GROUND DISTANCES PER NOTE ON SAID EXHIBIT "K". THE HUNTZINGER ROAD ALIGNMENT SHOWN HEREON IS BASED UPON
<br />PRORATING THE SECTION TIE DISTANCES TO FIT THE SECTION BREAKDOWN USED HEREON. THE AS -BUILT CENTERLINE OF
<br />THE EXISTING PAVED ROAD FITS THE CALCULATED CENTERLINE VERY WELL.
<br />4. RECORD OF SURVEY REC. NO. 200508090038 SHOWS A 60 FOOT RIGHT-OF-WAY WIDTH FOR THAT PORTION OF
<br />HUNTZINGER ROAD ADJACENT TO THE NORTHWESTERLY LINE OF THIS SITE. RESEARCH TO DATE HAS SHOWN THAT THE
<br />CENTERLINE OF THAT PORTION OF HUNTZINGER ROAD IS BASED UPON THE "VE" LINE AS SHOWN ON (R7) AND (R8) WITH
<br />A RIGHT OF WAY WIDTH NOTED ON (R3), (R7) AND ON DEED, RECORDING NO. 280373, AS BEING 100 FEET IN WIDTH WITH
<br />50 FEET ON EACH SIDE OF THE CENTERLINE. ACCORDING TO W.S.D.O.T. INFORMATION THE RIGHT-OF-WAY IN THIS
<br />VICINITY OF "VE" LINE WAS RELINQUISHED TO KITTITAS COUNTY IN 1973. INQUIRIES AT THE COUNTY HAVE NOT RESULTED
<br />IN ANY EVIDENCE THAT THE WIDTH OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY HAS BEEN REDUCED. THIS DIFFERENCE IN WIDTH RESULTS IN
<br />THE TWO CORNER MONUMENTS, ADJACENT TO HUNTZINGER ROAD, SET BY THE AFOREMENTIONED SURVEY REC. NO.
<br />200508090038, BEING PLACED APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET INTO THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.
<br />5. THE EAST QUARTER CORNER AND SOUTHEAST SECTION CORNER OF SECTION 30 WERE SEARCHED FOR BUT NOT
<br />FOUND. A LARGE AREA AROUND THE EAST QUARTER CORNER HAS BEEN GRADED LEVEL, POSSIBLY RAKED OF LARGER
<br />STONES, AND THE ENTIRE AREA SHOWS NOTHING MORE THAN HARROWED ROWS OF PARALLEL LINES. IT APPEARS THAT
<br />THE SAME MAY HAVE OCCURRED IN THE VICINITY OF THE SOUTHEAST SECTION CORNER AS WELL HOWEVER THIS AREA
<br />ALSO APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN PLANTED AND WAS COVERED IN 3 -FOOT TALL GRASS AT THE TIME OF THIS SURVEY.
<br />6. A NUMBER OF SCENARIOS REGARDING THE SECTION BREAKDOWN WERE ANALYZED, THE INITIAL ANALYSIS INVOLVED
<br />ATTEMPTING TO HOLD THE CURRENT RECORD BY FITTING THE SECTION BREAKDOWNS FROM SURVEY REC. NO.
<br />200508090038 AND SURVEY REC. NO. 201101210027 TOGETHER. EVEN THOUGH THE BREAKDOWN USED HEREON IS
<br />SIMILAR, THIS SCENARIO WAS DISMISSED AS IT IS BELIEVED THAT A MISTAKE MAY HAVE BEEN MADE ON SURVEY REC. N0.
<br />200508090038 ON THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE EAST QUARTER CORNER AND THE NORTHEAST SECTION CORNER DUE TO
<br />APPLYING A SCALE FACTOR TO THE WRONG DISTANCE. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE CERTAIN OTHER ASPECTS OF THE
<br />RECORD REGARDING THE CALCULATED POSITIONS FOR THE MISSING EAST QUARTER CORNER AND SOUTHEAST SECTION
<br />CORNER WHOSE METHODOLOGY COULD NOT BE ASCERTAINED.
<br />7. THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY (EXHIBIT K FOR GRANT CO. PUD NO. 2), WHICH A NUMBER OF DOCUMENTS APPEAR TO
<br />REFERENCE, DOES NOT CLOSE MATHEMATICALLY, ALTHOUGH BY ONLY 0.10' AND THE ANGULAR RELATIONSHIPS DO NOT
<br />MATCH THE EVIDENCE ON THE GROUND IN SOME AREAS. FOR EXAMPLE; IF THE ANGLE BETWEEN THE NORTH -SOUTH
<br />CENTER SECTION LINE AND THE SOUTH SECTION LINE WERE TO BE HELD PER THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY THE RESULTING
<br />SECTION LINE WOULD BE OVER 5 FEET SOUTH OF THE FOUND MONUMENT "M76W" WHICH THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY SAYS
<br />WAS PLACED ON THE SECTION LINE. IN ADDITION; THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY DISTANCES ARE NAD27 STATE PLANE GRID
<br />AND, EVEN TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE GRID TO GROUND SCALE FACTOR, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE NORTH AND SOUTH
<br />QUARTER CORNERS DIFFER FROM WHAT WAS MEASURED BY OVER 3 FEET. THE CALCULATED AVERAGE COMBINED SCALE
<br />FACTOR OF THE PETTIJOHN "EXHIBIT K" COORDINATES USING THE NORTH AND SOUTH QUARTER CORNERS AND THE
<br />NORTHEAST AND SOUTHEAST SECTION CORNERS, PER CORPSCON, WAS DETERMINED TO BE 1.000102043. THE SOURCE OF
<br />THE SCALE FACTOR NOTED ON SURVEY REC. NO. 200508090038 OF 1.00028898 IS UNCERTAIN BUT APPEARS TO BE A
<br />PRORATION FACTOR.
<br />8. IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS IT WAS DETERMINED TO HOLD THE FOUND QUARTER AND SECTION CORNERS AND TO TRY AND
<br />DETERMINE THE LOCATIONS OF THE MISSING EAST QUARTER AND SOUTHEAST SECTION CORNER POSITIONS BY HOLDING
<br />CERTAIN ASPECTS OF THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY, WHICH SEEMED TO BE THE BEST RECORD RESOURCE FOR THE MISSING
<br />CORNERS. IT WAS FELT THAT THE DIFFERENCES IN CURRENT MEASUREMENTS BETWEEN SECTION AND QUARTER CORNERS
<br />AND THOSE SHOWN ON THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY MAY BE EXPLAINED BY THE ROUGHNESS OF THE TERRAIN IN THE WEST
<br />TWO THIRDS OF THE SECTION AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE PETTIJOHN TOOK HIS
<br />MEASUREMENTS IN THE STONE MOUNDS. IT IS THOUGHT THAT HIS MOST ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS WOULD BE ALONG
<br />THE EAST LINE OF THE SECTION WHERE THE TERRAIN IS RELATIVELY LEVEL AND THE SIGHT DISTANCES ARE GOOD.
<br />9. AT THE NORTHEAST SECTION CORNER, PETTIJOHN FOUND A STONE MOUND AND POST WHERE TODAY THERE IS A
<br />REBAR IN AN ASPHALT ROAD, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE REBAR IS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL POSITION BUT AT THIS TIME NO
<br />EVIDENCE HAS BEEN FOUND THAT WOULD DISPUTE THE POSITION AND SINCE IT HAS BEEN HELD FOR NUMEROUS SURVEYS
<br />IT WAS DETERMINED TO HOLD IT FOR THIS SURVEY AS WELL.
<br />10. THE SOUTHEAST SECTION CORNER AND THE EAST QUARTER CORNER WERE DETERMINED BY HOLDING THE ANGLE
<br />BETWEEN MONUMENT "M76W", THE SOUTHEAST SECTION CORNER AND THE EAST QUARTER CORNER AND ALSO THE ANGLE
<br />BETWEEN THE EAST LINE OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER AND THE EAST LINE OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER PER PETTIJOHN
<br />(IT WAS FELT HE COULD HAVE MEASURED THESE ANGLES DIRECTLY WITH NO RANDOM TRAVERSE CALCULATIONS).
<br />11. THE DISTANCE BETWEEN "M76W" AND THE SECTION CORNER WAS DETERMINED BY APPLYING THE GRID TO GROUND
<br />SCALE DISTANCE OF 1.000102043 TO THE MAP DISTANCE ON THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY OF 340.73 FEET FOR A
<br />CALCULATED DISTANCE OF 340.76 FEET. THE DISTANCES FOR EACH OF THE EAST SECTIONS LINES WERE PROPORTIONED
<br />AGAINST THE PETTIJOHN SURVEY.
<br />12. IT IS THOUGHT THAT THE REASON SO MANY PLASTIC CAPS ARE MISSING FROM THE FOUND REBAR MAY BE DUE TO
<br />A FIRE THAT PASSED ACROSS THIS SITE IN 2018. MANY OF THE FENCE POSTS ARE BADLY CHARRED AND SOME OF THE
<br />REBAR APPEAR TO HAVE A RING OF MELTED PLASTIC PARTWAY DOWN FROM THE TOP. CAP DAMAGE DUE TO CHEWING
<br />BY DOMESTIC OR WILD ANIMALS HAS BEEN OBSERVED ON OTHER SITES AND MAY ALSO BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.
