In certain areas of KG-County buildings,public Wi-Fi is provided.It is separate from ear--RKittitasCountyWi-Fi network. <br />You san-may connect personal equipment to the Internet over Wi-Fi using the Kittitas <br />County Public connection. <br />6.4.6 Attaching personal equipment <br />1.You may connect personal peripheral equipment (excludinq monitors)to your <br />computer. <br />2.You may not connect personal cell phones,tablet PCs,laptops,or other personal <br />non-peripheral equipment,directly or using VPN,to the KCounty network or to <br />computers connected to the network.(CJIS 5.9 §5.5.6.1) <br />Your DHIEOs may request IT give you remote access to your KGCounty computer using a_n <br />KGIT approved remote desktop solution. <br />You may not access,process,store,or transmit Cateqory [link 7.4.10]3 or 4 data on <br />personal equipment.(CJlS 5.9 §5.5.6.1) <br />6.4.7 Visitor and vendor owned equipment <br />1.Visitors and vendors may connect to the Internet via designated public access <br />network jacks or over Wi-Fi using the Kittitas County Public wireless network.They <br />may not connect to the Kittitas County wireless network unless pre-authorized by <br />IT.For more information see Technology Policy 5 -Access. <br />2.Vendors may connect to their equipment on the eeuntyCounty network via VPN over <br />the Internet. <br />6.4.8 Email <br />With DHIEO approval,KGIT will sync your mail-enabled personal equipment with Exchange <br />for email,contacts,and calendars.Email primary records are stored in KCounty's Exchange <br />Server. <br />If your authorized personal equipment is connected with--to EAS,you must follow these <br />rules: <br />1.Follow records management policy and procedures. <br />2.Check for and install security updates as they are made available by the <br />manufacturer. <br />3.Password protection must be enabled on the device and required after 15 minutes of <br />inactivity.Whenever possible the password must meet the requirements in <br />Technology Policy 4 -Account Management. <br />4.Smartphone passwords may be 4 digits if the screen lock is enabled after 1 minute of <br />inactivity;however,all digits may not be consecutive (e.g.,1-2-3-4)or duplicated <br />(e.g.,1-1-1-1).If the screen lock on inactivity is set for longer than 1 minute,the <br />password must,to the degree possible,meet the requirements in Technology Policy <br />4 -Account Management. <br />5.Do not share your password with anyone,including family,co-workers,and KGIT. <br />6.You must change your device password every 90 days.We recommend you make <br />25
