Technology Policy 6 -Personal Equipment <br />6.Personal Equipment <br />6.1 Summary <br />The County allows use of some personal equipment to enhance productivity and safety.This <br />policy sets requirements for using personal equipment to conduct Kittitas County (KG) <br />business while maintaining the security of the network and public records. <br />If you use personal equipment for KCounty business,you must adhere to all related <br />administrative policies including employee conduct and rights,records management, <br />confidentiality,privacy,and security of County technology assets. <br />Kittitas County reserves the right to access,audit,and inspect your personal devices used to <br />conduct eeuntyCounty business and all information stored on them.You have no <br />expectation of privacy for materials viewed or stored on personal devices used to conduct <br />eeëntyCounty business. <br />6.2 References <br />1.Personnel Policy Manual 4-5 Outside Employment <br />2.Personnel Policy Manual 4-12 Technology Use <br />3.Records Management Policy and Procedures <br />4.Technology Policy 4 -Account Management <br />5.Technology Policy 5 -Access <br />6.Technology Policy 7 -Data Management,Access,and Protection <br />6.3 Definitions <br />6.3.1 Mobile device <br />A smartphone,laptop,notebook,tablet,or similar device that includes an operating system <br />and can run applications like e-mail,Internet aseessbrowser,and word processing. <br />6.3.2 Peripheral equipment <br />Hardware items that can connect to a computer and have no operatinq system or storaqe <br />capacity,e.q.,headsets,webcam,keyboards,mice,and speakers.For these technoloqv <br />policies,monitors are considered inventoried technoloqy and not peripheral equipmentA- <br />6.3.3 Personal equipment <br />Any equipment (wired or wireless,including computers,tablet PCs,USB,Bluetooth,serial <br />devices,flash memory,portable storage,MP3 players,wireless access points,routers,and <br />other network devices,)not owned by the eeuntyCounty,another government agency,or by <br />contract through which eeënty-County business is conducted. <br />23
