Project Manager I Erik Borgen, JD, MBA <br />Erik is a leader in the water resources space with over 12 years of experience <br />working with water rights, water transactions, and hydrology on high -impact <br />114 projects for corporate, non-profit, foundation, and government agency clients <br />throughout the western United States. He brings a proven ability to lead <br />efforts in strategic planning, valuation, permitting, and due diligence for water <br />rights acquisition, water asset management, and mitigation banking programs. <br />Erik joined LAI in November 2020, bringing a breadth of multi -disciplinary <br />j experience. Prior to LAI, he practiced as an attorney with a boutique law <br />firm specializing in water rights, worked as a water rights consultant at two economic consulting firms, <br />and served as a project manager with a non-profit organization that pioneered free-market approaches <br />to streamflow restoration. <br />Kittitas County Water Banking Experience <br />Erik has extensive experience working with water banking programs and projects in the County. He <br />adminstered one of the first water banks in the County, on behalf of a private client, overseeing all <br />aspects of mitigation transactions, tracking 27 underlying senior water rights, and providing strategic <br />direction for the bank. Additionally, Erik has developed a deep understanding of the Yakima Basin water <br />rights transfer market, having studied it on behalf of multiple clients. Erik supported the sale of a water <br />utility within the County, assisting with the transfer of a complex suite of water rights. He has executed <br />several water right acquisitions and sales on behalf of clients in the Yakima Basin and has a history of <br />successfully working with Ecology personnel in the Central Regional Office. <br />Working with AMP <br />Erik previously worked as a consultant at AMP's predecessor Ecosystem Economics where he, Amanda <br />Cronin, and David Pilz collaborated on projects focusing on mitigation bank feasibility and design for <br />several Washington watersheds. <br />Erik reflects LAI's core values: <br />Collaborative — Erik collaborates with a "listen first" approach, seeking to understand problems and <br />stakeholder positions before voicing his opinion or potential solution.
