4/12/2021 MINUTES 2 <br />Commissioner Wright expressed concerns and asked the Board to <br />consider allowing for 3 more days to review options. Vice-Chairman <br />Osiadacz encouraged Commissioner Wright to work on options over the <br />next two years, and stated now was not the time to make a knee jerk <br />reaction. Chairman Wachsmith seconded. Motion carried 2-1 <br />(Commissioner Wright opposed). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION PHIL BACKLUND BOCC RETREAT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board discussed options to consider for planning a <br />retreat/meeting for the Board to develop their goals etc. They heard <br />from Phil Backlund and the ideas he had to facilitate. The Board <br />agreed to see if the Prosecutor’s Office could draft an Agreement <br />for the Board to consider and that Commissioner Wright would work <br />with Staff to develop a DRAFT Agenda for the Board to consider. <br /> <br />LETTER FEDERAL APPROPRIATIONS REQUEST COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve and authorize Board signature <br />on a letter to Congresswoman Kim Schrier regarding the Approval of <br />the Board’s Federal Appropriation Requests. Commissioner Wright <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:55 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess <br />into Executive Session for 5 minutes, to evaluate the qualifications <br />of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance <br />of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), <br />discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other <br />conditions of employment to be generally applied within the agency <br />shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing <br />body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an <br />individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or <br />disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting <br />open to the public. No action anticipated. <br /> <br />At 10:00 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session.
