A motion was mude by Steven Earper and <br />seeonded by Beth Williams to approve the Applicationfor Lodging Tur Grantfunds, Question <br />on the motion: Matthew Lundh osked if it would make sensefor the City to askfor a larger <br />portion to hire personnel to help complete the Coal Mine Trailhead structure project. Steven <br />Harper explained it does notfrt within the matching requirements and lhe time constraints to try <br />to put that type of application together. Lucy Tenple resporcded the matching portion the city <br />already has will be more than. enough to cover these projects. Mayor McGowan reported there <br />are plenty of volunteers waiting to help once the Phase 2 COI/ID-19 Rules ga into effect. <br />Hearing no further questions, the Mayor calledfor the vote. The motion carrted ananimously. <br />Committee Reports:a. Conduit for Sound System Lodging Tax Grant Application - City of Cle Etum: <br />Council member Steven Harper reported the Lodging Tax Committee has reviewed the <br />application from the City of Cle Elum for $6,000.00 to install the sound system conduit along <br />First Sfeet between Peoh and Oakes Avenue. The Lodging Tax Committee recommends council <br />approval. A motion w*s made by Matihew Lundh und seconded by Steven Hurper to approve <br />the First Street Conduit applieqtion in the amount of 86,000, The motion carried <br />unanhnously. <br />b. City Park Structure Lodging Tax Grant in the amount of $23,500: Council member <br />Steven Harper reported the Lodging Tax Committee reviewed the application for the new <br />struchue at the Cle Elum City Park, which the Kiwanis Club is building. The Lodging Tax <br />Committee recommends council approval. A motion was mude by Ken Ratliff and seconded by <br />John Glondo to approve the City Park Structare Lodging Tm Grant Application in the amount <br />of 82i,500. The motian carrieil unanimoasly. <br />c, Parks Committee Report - Council member Matthew Lundhr Reported the Dog Park survey will be completed this week or next, which will <br />allow the committee to move forward with the RFP for the fencing.o Reported the existing skucfure at the Second Street City Park will be demolished <br />on Thursday 05/13/202A. The new structure will be delivered sometime in June. The <br />Kiwanis Club has been able to negotiate some payment for the concrete work with "in <br />kind" funding.. Reported the Hanson Ponds siting for the bathroom is complete. Lucy Temple <br />has marked the location and will send out the required SEPA. Mike Engelhart, Public <br />Works Director, is working on getting the restrooms donated <br />Motio_n tq Adiourn <br />A motion was made by John Glondo to adjourn at 7:07 p.m. The next regular <br />schedaled meeting is Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. and will be held vlrtaally, with access <br />by telephone and/or computerfor coancil members and by telephone onlyfor citizens. <br />Mayor Attest <br />4
