2/08/2021 MINUTES 2 <br />another. she stated that they have always accommodated last <br />minute/time Sensitive issues that come up, however another option <br />would be to consider decreasing them and to have two or three <br />instead of 5 ten minute slots. She stated that the Board would need <br />to direct Staff to set a Public Hearing if they wanted to change it <br />as those meetings are in the Kittitas County Code. Commissioner <br />Osiadacz stated that the ten minutes is rarely enough time to <br />conduct much business and they typically ran over, so she would not <br />have any issues considering alternate options or doing away with <br />them. Chairman Wachsmith and Commissioner Wright stated that they <br />would be in favor of continuing with them to be on hold for the time <br />being until the Pandemic is over and will further consider options <br />then. <br /> <br />FOLLOW UP GROUP REGISTRATION - NACO COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz stated that she reached out at the direction <br />of the Board to see if any other Elected’s were interested in <br />participating in the NACO Annual Conference this year since it will <br />be held virtually. She only heard from the County Clerk and <br />indicated that Ms. Barschaw was not interested, but would like any <br />pertinent information shared with her. The Board directed Staff to <br />sign up for the Group A package for 5 members to attend. <br /> <br />RATIFY LETTER OF SUPPORT – HB1355 COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to ratify Board signature on a letter of <br />support to Chairman Chapman and Ranking Member Chandler Re: HB 1355. <br />Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ZOOM MEETINGS FOR COMMITTEES COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />The Board along with Deputy Prosecutor Hartung and BoCC Staff <br />discussed concerns brought forward with County Boards, Committee’s <br />and Commissions using Zoom for virtual meetings. The Board <br />determined they would like the Chair to send out a letter on behalf <br />of the Board to the County Clerk offering to have BoCC Staff host <br />the meetings via WebEx until they can meet in person and asking that <br />they retain the clerking role. <br /> <br />UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to <br />meet with on a weekly basis. The assignments for 2021 were <br />determined at the Board of County Commissioners Office Admin meeting <br />on 1-11-2021. <br /> <br />Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective <br />departments and exchanged details of those meetings. <br />
