Board of Health Minutes <br />November 24, 2020 <br />2 of 2 <br />Preparedness Planning, Mitigation and Recovery Efforts grant program. KCPHD was one of ten health <br />departments to receive this grant funding from a national award. Kasey Knutson will be working closing <br />with Central Washington Disability Resources for these pass-through funds. <br />Staff Updates <br />Tristen Lamb talked about the five contact tracers that have been working on case and contact <br />investigations. Ms. Lamb also introduced the new health promotion staff member, Joe Rainwater - <br />Cummings. <br />Project Updates <br />Ms. Lamb briefly discussed the two COVID-19 media contacts that are currently up and running in <br />Kittitas County. There were questions from the board regarding the Spread Kindness not COVID <br />campaign, and how it can be catered to Kittitas County specifically. There was discussion regarding <br />working with business, and that the campaign is ever evolving based on the county's needs. <br />COVID-19/Health Officer Update <br />Dr. Mark Larson reviewed some COVID-19 data, including the cases per 100k. Dr. Larson also discussed <br />local hospital capacity, the increasing case numbers within the last seven days, and the number of cases <br />within the CWU college population vs. non -student residents. Dr. Larson also did a quick overview of <br />exposure settings for Kittitas County positive COVID cases. <br />There were questions from the board regarding ventilator and staff numbers, data development for <br />cases vs. hospitalizations vs. ventilations, anticipated need for hospital beds in the beginning of the year <br />vs. now, and about transmission of disease from accepting patients from other areas that are overrun. <br />Board of Health Meeting adjourned at 11:32am <br />ac ith, Chair of the Board of Health <br />Tristen Lamb, Ddric <br />or <br />r Kittitas Couny Health <br />I <br />Kate Odiaga, Clerk of the Board of Health <br />
