Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize Public Works advertising a request for proposals for "No -Parking" <br />enforcement in Hyak. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />• Recently, the Board of County Commissioners amended land use in the <br />Snoqualmie Limited Area of More Intense Rural Development (LAMIRD) <br />including impound yards. <br />• Ongoing violations of no parking restrictions in Hyak are hampering snow <br />removal operations and emergency vehicle response to the community. <br />• Public Works desires soliciting tow companies for no parking support services <br />including towing and impounding (EXHIBIT 1). <br />• Innovative technologies are emerging that might have merit for consideration and <br />are made part of Public Works proposed solicitation. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Towing and impounding of vehicles violating parking restrictions is found in County <br />Code at 10.06.050 and 10.07.060: <br />G.05.050 ow`;v- and :rapo a iiing vPr::c�as v!c�a ir,_. r.ark'ing res r cVans. <br />Any vehicle parking in any county parking area in violation of this chapter shall be towed and <br />impounded at the owner's expenses provided in Ch 46.55 RCW. Vehicles parked in violation <br />of this code section are subject to a $200 fine payable and appealable as provided in Ch. <br />46.63 RCW. Said fines and impoundment shall be effective upon installation of appropriate <br />signs.
