After interviewing the Selah Chamber of Commerce on their 4th of <br />July event, they epressed that creating a fairl carnival environment was \ilorth the <br />effort and \,as one of the key financial drivers for their lndependence Day <br />Celebration. We instead applied for and vrere awarded <br />$1 0,000 for firerrlorks for our upcoming 2020 Christmas in Cle Elum parade. <br />We uorked with Public Health and the City of Cle Elum to conduct the annual <br />firerrucrks show, with an approved safety plan and guidelines. We also developed a <br />virtual parade instead of the annual physical one as WSDOT r,rould not let us hosl <br />the formal parade in person. <br />2500 character linit <br />Additional lnformation Advocatirrg for Cle Elum and getting creative, \,1,e have rrr,rcrked with our team at <br />WSDOT to develop the first ever WSDOT-approved reverse parade in 2020 lor <br />Christmas in Cle Elum; where the floats stay still and the participanls drive through <br />to allowfor proper safely and physical distancing.
