Response 1: Project/Event*uescflptron The Ellensburg Dance Ensemble (EDE). in collaboration with CWU Theatre Arts and Orchesis, will present a spring dance production (tbd) and The Nutcracker Ballet in Winter 2021. These productions will feature local dancers ranging in age from 6 to adult. EDE will also hire tvr,rc professional ballet dancers from a PNW professional ballet to play the lead roles in order to attract a wider audience to our performances. EDE is a not for profit pre-professional dance company that has been a part of the Ellensburg Community for the past 14 years. EDE is a member of the Laughing Horse Arts Foundation of Ellensburg and strives to bring the art of dance to Ellensburg and the surrounding areas by perfornring at community events such as Moments to Remember, performing high quality dance productions, and providing dancers with exceptional dance education. ln the past EDE's dance productions have included The Nutcracker Ballet every other winter, Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz The Little Mernraid, Alice in Wonderland and more. EDE is led by Artistic Directors who have many years of dance and choreography eperierrce from all over the United States. The talents of our leaders create beautiful ballets and dance productions that are a joy for the audience members to ra,atch and for ihe dancers to perform. Collaborating with the CWU Theatre Arls Department and Orchesis Dance Company on productions is a partnership we are going to continue to build lrpon. To increase the caliber and professionalism of their productions EDE brings professional dancers to play the more challenging roles in some of its productions and will continue to do so. These professional dancers bring in more audience ntembers and appeal to a wider range of theatre goers. Also, they provide inspiration and serve as role models for the local dance talent. The target audience for this production is families with children from all over central and eastern Washington and ballet and arts enthusiasts from that sanre region.
