Response 1: ProjecVEvent*uescflptron This project is the Washington State Search and Rescue 202'l Conference proposed for June 21 - 27 2021 in Ellensburg at a split venue of CWU and KVEC. Hosted by Washinglon State Search and Rescue Volunteer Advisory Council (aka WASARVAC) Kittitas County Search and Rescue, Kittitas County Sheriff Clay Myers KCSO, and a host of volunteers from other SAR units in Washington State. Hislory of the Conference in Ellensburg: ln 2018 and 2019 Sheriff Gene Dana KCSO, and Kittitas County SAR committed to partnering with the WA State SAR Volunteer Advisory Council (SARVAC) for co-hosting the State SAR Conference The conference provided a split venue bet\,een CWU and KVEC for both years, 2018 and 2019 Conferences received very high ratings in post Conference attendee and instructor questionnaires. ln response to COVID 19 the 2020 Conference scheduled for June of 2020 rms cancelled. The Conference is dedicated to training classes for Search and Rescue Volunteers and Professionals for the greater good of the State(s) Country(s) and Communities in which they serve. The Conference typically has 250-350 attendees. The conference is open to the public. Vendors provide SAR specific products and resources. During the 2019 conference we advertised and added 4 free public classes. At this conference SAR volunteers and professionals of all ages travel and stay in Kittitas County. where they eat in our restaurants, stay in our hotels, explore wtrat lte have to offer, camp and wani to come back.
