Response 3:
Measuring Results *
Application Questions: Part 3
Describe how you will promrle your errenUacliviVfacilily to atlract fourists.
The Washington Staie Ski & Snovrboard Museum's project is year-round, with
various campaigns promoting lhe museum at different times of the year (winter,
spring, summer, and fall). We expect advertising to drawindividuals to Kittitas
County from Western Washinglon, with the targeted demographics of more than
50+ miles, including those in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
To measure our success, rne will continue to keep a daily count of visitors to the
museunr as well as a guest book log that asks for addresses. The museum also
has a register book that shor,rs the extent of our geographical draw and method of
hearing about us. With this being the first year that the museum has applied for ihe
lodging tax, r,r,e plan to implement a new electronic survey system to better track
specific 2p codes and overnight lodging details fronr visitors.
To promote our events, vrc plan to implement a targeted internet and social media
campaign, possibly with video, to attract visitors to the museum and shor*case our
evenis. We will also utilize targeted print campaigns. Geographic targeting for this
first year will be focused on the Seattle/Tacoma DMA. Demographic targeting will
be focused on skiers and those interested in history and museums. We will have a
particular interest in snoiniboarders this year with our new exhibit opening. With
Olympic Gold Medalist Debbie Armstrong recently joining our board (she has an
immense social media followng), we hope to attract a much larger social media
audience.
We also plan to utilize our partner organizations to promote these campaigns.
Curent and past partners include The Sumntil at Snoqualmie, Dru Bru Brer, rery,
Commonwealth, Sturtevant's, and Warren Miller Entertainnrent.
The Museum seeks funding to support adveriising for general awareness of its
current and newe*ribiis and to celebrate our Sth anniversary.
To help promote tourism generally in Kittitas County, WSSSM is a member of
CAMAH (Cascade Associations of Museums and History). ln 2021 , r,r,e plan to add
Central Washington Outdoor to our partner list. We plan to add brochures to our
facility and oiher information to our \4iebsite about Kittitas County tourism. We will
also u,ork with local lodging facilities to increase tourism.
ln 2020, we had planned on sponsoring Dru Bru's events (Snoqualnrie Pass Tunnel
Run and nrore) but those were cancelled due to Covid. We plan to i,r,ork Wth other
partners at The Pass to promote events in Kittitas County happening at The Pass.
2500 characler iinit
4lCollaboration
lf your organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other
events, how is this accomplished?
