2021 Methodology*
Methodology
Narrative *
V\hal nethoddogy wrll you rse to calculate the upconing nurircrs?
lf Direct Count (preferred)
l- lndirect Count
l/ Representative Survey
ll lnformal Survey (preferred)
f- Structured Fstimate
l- Other
Flease explain.
1. We add up each visit (taken at the front desk) to the gallery, our events, our
classes. ln 2019 \,ve estimated that will lotal25,732 visits. For 2021 we are applying
a 30% reduction to accommodate for lack of First Friday attendance and major
events through June.
2. We review our Facebook demographics and Google analytics to understand
nhere our visitors are from.
3. We review our membership and mailing list and see nihere they are from.
4. We review a sample survey from the front desk that asks rahere visitors are from.
5. We compare the percentages of those from inside the county, out of the county,
and out ofthe state. See attachment.
6. We determine an average percentage of those from out of the state and out of
the county and apply ihat to the overall number of visits.
Out of state average of all numbers is 6% Out of county average is 32%
7. We multiply our pro.iection of visits by these numbers. Our projection for 2020 is
1 8,000 (roughly 30% less than 2019) 1 8,000 x .06= 1 080 Out of state visitors
18000x .32 = 5760 out of county visitors
B. We make a modesi assumption ihat 1 out of 30 of these visitors (out of state
plus out of county) will pay for lodging for one night.
