Public Works Water Metering Fee Collection Agreement <br />The Kittitas County Public Works Department ("Public Works") and the Kittitas County Treasurer <br />("Treasurer") agree, as authorized by RCW 36.29.010(9), to the following process of imposing <br />and collecting Water Metering Fees. <br />Public Works <br />1) Public Works will fulfill the statutory and legal requirements to administer the metering <br />and monitoring program identified in Kittitas County Code 13.40.030. <br />2) On or before December 31' each year, Public Works will notify Treasurer of any <br />changes (such as: changes in ownership, billing contact information, etc.) to be made <br />to the Water Metering Fee statement. <br />3) On or before January 5' each year, Public Works will provide Treasurer with a list of <br />all Water Metering Fee account changes including new and/or deleted accounts. <br />4) Public Works will notify Treasurer of any accounts being sent to collection and will <br />handle all contact with account holder until payment is made via the collection process. <br />5) If Public Works becomes aware any debtor has filed for bankruptcy, Public Works will <br />immediately alert the Treasurer and the Prosecutor's Office and will forward any <br />bankruptcy notices received to the Treasurer and the Prosecutor's Office. <br />6) Public Works will pay Treasurer $2.75 per Water Metering Fee account, per year, for <br />the services outlined in this agreement. This includes annual data entry, statement <br />printing, postage and employee time. Public Works will submit payment to the <br />Treasurer within 30 days of receipt of the yearly invoice described below - <br />Treasurer <br />1) On or before December l' each year, Treasurer will provide Public Works with a list <br />of all current Water Metering Fee accounts and any delinquencies. <br />1) Treasurer will collect any Water Metering Fees paid and distribute to the appropriate <br />Public Works fund. <br />2) The Treasurer is responsible for calculating and collecting the correct amount of <br />interest, which is Ten Percent (10%) per annuum, as authorized by RCW 19.52.020. <br />
