CITY OF CLE ELUM <br />Planning Department <br />County Lodging Tax Grant Application: <br />Tourism-Related Smoll-Scale Municipality-Owned Cepitsl Prujects & Operations <br />STAFF'RSPORT <br />AGENDA DATE:May 11,2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED:Review and discuss proposed grant application components and <br />propose any edits to the list of components for the County Lodging <br />Tax grant. <br />BACKGROT]ND: <br />PROPOSAL <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />The Kittitas County Tourism.Related Small-Scale Municipality- <br />Owned Capital Project & Operations grant is due on June l8th. The <br />County has $100,000 to distribute and typically split it between all <br />applicants. The proposal must include a 50% match. <br />The proposal includes components which already have at least 50% <br />match in related projects, as the components are associated with <br />existing projects city-wide. <br />Component #1: Trail Counters - data collectiono 2 Long-term locations: Coal Mines Trail & Dog Parkr 3 Portable trail counters for use to collect data at other parks, <br />or trails, seasonal or holiday event attendance, sidewalk use <br />and movement within the downtowno Future plandng for maintenance & operations. Post-project or post-event JLARC reporting <br />Component #2zParkAmenities - improved tourism & return ratee Disc Golf Course signs, logon and tourism brochure <br />Total Grant Requestl $3,200 <br />Approve the project list to improve the City's recreation and tourism <br />data collection, and park amenities <br />Lucy Temple, City Planner
