Worth mentioning, too, is Jazz in <br />the Valley, also a multi-day event, which attracts an estimated 5,000 tourists who travel >50 miles from <br />their residence/place of business to attend this very popular music event. For over 20 years, this annual, <br />reoccurring event supports the County as a tourism destination, with attendees having multi-day lodging <br />stays in Ellensburg and the County. ln total it is estimated that over 68,000 people annually stay <br />overnight in Ellensburg for events that utilize the Rotary Pavilion property, of which, 65,000 people <br />travel from an area greater than 50 miles away to attend these events. <br />3. Use of Grant Funds: Please explain exactly how the requested funds will be used. lnclude an <br />itemized list. <br />Grant funds from this program will be used to perform the following tasks: <br />1,. Demolition and removalof the drive thru structure of the old Wells Fargo bank building, <br />2. Repair the bank building west wall that is disturbed as a result of the demolition work, <br />3. Removal of the drive thru customer service stations <br />4. Repaving where bank infrastructure was removed to provide added programmable area <br />4. Real Property: lf real property acquisition is a component of the project, please explain. lnclude any <br />information of property already secured or evidence of the ability to secure the real property. <br />5. Capital Assets: lf capital asset acquisition is a component of the project, please explain. lnclude any <br />bids solicited and received from potential vendors willing to supply the asset. Please include letters of support from stakeholders. <br />As a part of the park master planning process, the City held stakeholder meetings with over 25 <br />members of the community. These stakeholder meetings were attended by user groups such as <br />Jazzin the Valley, Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, Ellensburg Downtown Association, and <br />the lron Horse Brewery. Also included in the stakeholder's meetings were downtown business <br />owners and various members of City boards and commissions. Additionally, the City, along with <br />WalkerlMacy, the landscape architect firm assisting with the project, held a public forum at the <br />Rotary Pavilion in October 2019 which over 50 people attended, providing valuable feedback on <br />the project. City staff has presented the project to local service clubs such as the Morning and <br />Noon Rotary Clubs, and Kiwanis Club. <br />7. Studies: Please attach any feasibility or other studies that demonstrate linkages between the <br />proposed project and the anticipated tourism impacts.
