Cook <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Direct staff prepare enabling legislation transferring approximately 575 feet of South Cie <br />Elum Way to the Town of South Cle Elum. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />• The Town of South Cle Elum is requesting the transfer of 575 feet of South Cie <br />Elum Way inside the city limit. <br />• Staff proposes transferring the roadway via Revised Code of Washington <br />39.33.010. <br />• Following Board action, the Town of South Cie Elum will accept the roadway via <br />resolution and the transfer will be complete. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Following a recent attempt to paint a sidewalk on South Cie Elum Way by the City of Cie <br />Elum, Public Works conferred with the Town of South Cie Elum and the sidewalk was <br />removed. On July 10, 2020; Public Works received a formal request from the Town of <br />South Cie Elum to transfer 575 feet of South Cie Elum Way to the Town of South Cle <br />Elum ownership. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Transfer of county owned roadways to city ownership is authorized in Revised Code of <br />Washington 39.33.010. The Board may by resolution (with legal description of the <br />roadway attached) transfer ownership.
