AUGUST 11, 2020 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz, Cory Wright, Commissioner, (via WebEx). <br /> <br />Others Via WebEx: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy <br />Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jim Goeben, IT Director and <br />Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 10:30 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration <br />meeting continued from August 10, 2020. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION KC EMERGENCY.ORG WEBSITE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Jim Goeben, IT Director asked the Board for their input on the <br />kittitasemergency.org website maintenance. He stated that it has not <br />been maintained since May and the analytics are showing a decrease <br />in use; however the County Website for Emergency updates has over a <br />1,000 visits a day. He questioned if the Board would like to keep <br />the site up or move the content to the County page; or have a <br />redirect to the County website. He stated that IT would like to see <br />it moved from a wordpress website design to something that they can <br />maintain easier. The Board indicated that they wanted to keep the <br />County’s website(s) up to date. There was discussion on the reason <br />for the page and that it was to be the home of all emergencies, <br />disasters, pandemics etc., information for years to come. The Board <br />stated that they would like a follow up conversation and to include <br />someone from the EOC to participate. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION PERFORMANCE COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 10:44 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess <br />into an Executive Session for 5 minutes, with just the Board of <br />County Commissioners to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant <br />for public employment or to review the performance of a public <br />employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140 (4), discussion by a <br />governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of <br />employment to be generally applied within the agency shall occur in <br />a meeting open to the public, and when a governing body elects to <br />take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual <br />employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an <br />employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the <br />public. No action was anticipated.
