KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM MAY 11, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz, Commissioner Cory Wright <br />Others: Mark Cook, Candie Leader, Public Works; Lindsey Ozbolt and <br />Mike Flory, Community Development Services <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A NOTICE OF CALL FOR SEALED BIDS FOR THE FAIRVIEW <br />ROAD WIDENING AND COLEMAN CREEK STRUCTURE REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />Mark Cook gave background on the project and the right of way issues <br />being worked through with a property owner in the area. Mark Cook <br />stated that the updated right of way documentation was sent to the <br />property owner for review with no response as of today's date. Mark <br />Cook continued that the project will begin in October when the <br />irrigation water is shut-off. Discussion was held. Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith made a motion to approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids <br />for the Fairview Road Widening and Coleman Creek Structure <br />Replacement Project. Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz seconded the <br />motion. Motion passed 3-0. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A NOTICE OF CALL FOR SEALED BIDS FOR THE COLEMAN <br />CREEK CULVERT REPLACEMENT AT VANTAGE HIGHWAY PROJECT <br />Mark Cook gave background on the project stating that the bridge had <br />recently been secured and this call for sealed bids is for the <br />installation of that structure. Mark Cook continued that bids are <br />due on May 28, 2020 and will be opened the following week after they <br />have aged. Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve a <br />Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Coleman Creek Culvert <br />Replacement at Vantage Highway Project. Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. <br />COVE ROAD SPEED STUDY <br />Mark Cook stated that a resident in the area of Cove Road requested a <br />speed study be conducted after a fatality in the area. Mark Cook <br />continued that this is the second study done in the area in the last <br />year. Mark Cook added that this study was conducted between February <br />10 through February 24, 2020. Mark Cook gave background on speed <br />study procedures and guidelines stating that traffic is traveling <br />near the posted speed at the eighty fifth (85) percentile and <br />2020-05-11 MINUTES <br />
