KITTITAS COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG Regular Meeting MONDAY 1:30 PM APRIL 27, 2020 Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner Cory Wright Others: Mark Cook, Candie Leader, Public Works; Dan Carlson, Community Development Services At 1:30 pm Chairman Brett Wachsmith opened the Public Works Study Session. Mark Cook requested to add one (1) item under Other Business: Construction Update. REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE GRANT UPON FINAL DEPUTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY ACCEPTANCE AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF AIRPORT OPERATIONS TO SIGN ACCEPTING THE GRANT Mark Cook gave background on the Commerce Grant for Bowers Field and the dialogue had on confirmation of the lower grant amount being awarded versus the amount that was requested. Mark Cook continued that this action will allow for Director West to execute the grant. Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve Resolution 2020-091 to Accept the Department of Commerce Grant upon Final Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Acceptance and Authorize the Director of Airport Operations to sign Accepting the Grant. Vice -Chairman Laura Osiadacz seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF AIRPORT OPERATIONS TO ACCEPT THE 2020 CARES ACT BOWERS FIELD GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $69,000.00 Mark Cook gave background on the funding available from the Federal Aviation Administration through the CARES Act and the amount being accepted for Bowers Field is $69,000.00. Chairman Brett Wachsmith made a motion to approve Resolution 2020-090 Authorizing the Director of Airport Operations to accept the 2020 CARES Act Grant Bowers Field Grant in the amount of $69,000.00.
