Reg. 54969. <br />(2) After validating or locating the proper Social Security number, SSA will <br />(a) determine if the individual is receiving SSI or RSDI benefits; <br />(b) determine whether the individual has received an SSI benefit in the month <br />preceding the first month throughout which such individual was confined; <br />(c) determine whether the individual has received an RSDI benefit in the month <br />preceding the first month during which such individual was confined; <br />(d) determine whether the individual has been confined throughout the month for SSI <br />or confined for more than 30 continuous days for RSDI; <br />(e) notiff the individual of SSA's planned suspension action and provide the <br />individual with an opportunity to contest the planned action under applicable <br />regulations, if the law requires SSA to suspend SSI or RSDI; <br />(f) suspend SSI and RSDI payments as required by law and notify the individual of <br />the suspension action and his/her right to appeal; <br />(g) determine whether such individual is acting as a representative payee;
