maychangethiscontract;(2)Waiveoragreetomodificationofthedeliveryschedule;(3)MakeanyfinaldecisiononanycontractmattersubjecttotheDisputesClause;(4)Terminate,foranyreason,theContractor'srighttoproceed;(5)Obligateinanyway,thepaymentofmoneybytheGovernment.(d)TheContractorshallcomplywiththewrittenororaldirectionoftheContractingOfficerorauthorizedrepresentative(s)actingwithinthescopeandauthorityoftheappointmentmemorandum.TheContractorneednotproceedwithdirectionthatitconsiderstohavebeenissuedwithoutproperauthority.TheContractorshallnotifytheContractingOfficerinwriting,withasmuchdetailaspossible,whentheCORhastakenanactionorhasissueddirection(writtenororal)thattheContractorconsiderstoexceedtheCOR'sappointment,within3daysoftheoccurrence.Unlessotherwiseprovidedinthiscontract,theContractorassumesallcosts,risks,liabilities,andconsequencesofperforminganyworkitisdirectedtoperformthatfallswithinanyofthecategoriesdefinedinparagraph(c)priortoreceiptoftheContractingOfficer'sresponseissuedunderparagraph(e)ofthisclause.(e)TheContractingOfficershallrespondinwritingwithin30daystoanynoticemadeunderparagraph(d)ofthisclause.Afailureofthepartiestoagreeuponthenatureofadirection,oruponthecontractactiontobetakenwithrespectthereto,shallbesubjecttotheprovisionsoftheDisputesclauseofthiscontract.(f)TheContractorshallprovidecopiesofallcorrespondencetotheContractingOfficerandtheCOR.(g)Anyaction(s)takenbytheContractor,inresponsetoanydirectiongivenbyanypersonactingonbehalfoftheGovernmentoranyGovernmentofficialotherthantheContractingOfficerortheCORactingwithinhisorherappointment,shallbeattheContractor'srisk.(Endofclause)1452.228-70LIABILITYINSURANCE-DEPARTMENTOFINTERIOR(JUL1996)(a)TheContractorshallprocureandmaintainduringthetermofthiscontractandanyextensionthereofliabilityinsuranceinformsatisfactorytotheContractingOfficerbyaninsurancecompanywhichisacceptabletotheContractingOfficer.ThenamedinsuredpartiesunderthepolicyshallbetheContractorandtheUnitedStatesofAmerica.Theamountsoftheinsuranceshallbenotlessthanasfollows:$500,000eachperson$500,000eachoccurrence5500,000propertydamage(b)Eachpolicyshallhaveacertificateevidencingtheinsurancecoverage.TheinsurancecompanyshallprovideanendorsementtonotifytheContractingOfficer30dayspriortotheeffectivedateofcancellationorterminationofthepolicyorcertificate;ormodificationofthepolicyorcertificatewhichmayadverselyaffecttheinterestoftheGovernmentinsuchinsurance.Thecertificateshallidentifythecontractnumber,thenameandaddressoftheContractingOfTicer,aswellastheinsured,thepolicynumberandabriefdescriptionofcontractservicestobeperformed.ThecontractorshallfurnishtheContractingOfficerwithacopyofanacceptableinsurancecertificatepriortobeginningthework.(Endofclause)(EndofContractClauses)Page22
