The Moderate Risk Waste Disposal Project will focus on removing toxic <br />substances from the solid waste stream in Kittitas County at fixed, drop-off locations in the county. This task will <br />cost $133,333.33. The Waste Reduction, Recycling and Composting Project will focus on diverting recyclables from <br />the waste stream by providing collection sites for recycling materials at the county transfer stations, diverting organic <br />waste stream from landfills, and by educating the general public to compost the organic waste stream collected from <br />the county *or compost privately with backyard composting. This project will cost $65,250.67. <br />Project Long Description: <br />The Moderate Risk Waste Disposal Project will focus on removing toxic substances from the solid waste stream. <br />The Moderate Risk Waste Disposal Facility in Ellensburg will continue to operate on an appointment basis. The <br />Moderate Risk Waste Facility in Cle Elum will operate every other Friday from April to November of each year. Our <br />Staff will maintain the oil and antifreeze tanks at both facilities.
