Staff Report  2  Information Technology  <br />Historically, request for Ethernet wire installation has been infrequent and requires minimal resources.  <br /> 2016, 1 request for cable to attorney in Superior Court  <br /> 2017, 3 requests: 2 for Lower District Court and 1 for Fair wireless  <br /> 2018, 2 requests for displays in hall (BOCC and Clerk)  <br />  <br />Fiscal impact  <br />If a vendor charged $118/hour (prevailing wage), it is estimated:  <br /> The work in 2016 would have cost $118  <br /> The work in 2017 would have cost $2,006  <br /> The work in 2018 would have cost $413  <br />  <br />Recommendation  <br />IT recommends the board direct IT staff to work with vendors on the small purchase roster to obtain the  <br />necessary documents to procure network services in 2019.  <br />  <br />Because of the time sensitive nature of an open request to Maintenance to run Ethernet cable from the  <br />communication closet in Morris Sorenson to the Public Health Office, to provide phone service to 2  <br />employees, IT requests the board directs Maintenance complete this last network run while vendors are  <br />contracted for future work.  <br />  <br />Board direction  <br />Date   January 29, 2019  <br />Action  Approved  Denied  Revised   <br />Direction  The board directed IT to take the lead on low voltage electrical wire runs (Ethernet) and  <br />request assistance from Maintenance when IT is not capable of performing the work.  <br />G/1.01/ComGov  <br />
