closing work windows for 2017 has provided enough
detail to recommend removing the bridge and
restoring the channel through the vicinity of the
bridge in an attempt to reduce the upcoming
anticipated flooding impact of neighboring residents.
Public Works has held discussions with both WDFW
and KRD irrigation about the proposal and plans to
continue to work with interested parties and
neighboring residents through the process. The
bridge removal would ideally occur within the next
couple of weeks in anticipation of Fall rain events and
rising waters in Naneum creek.
In 2018 Public Works would seek to acquire necessary
property from the immediate property owners to
allow for the construction of turnarounds to facilitate
school busses and other traffic needs.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve the removal of the Bar 14 Road
Bridge over Naneum Creek and to perform channel
grading in the vicinity of the bridge.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution
LEAD STAFF: Lucas Huck
County Engineer
