Candie leader
From:
Mark Cook
Sent:
Wednesday, August 23, 2017 10:25 AM
To:
'Ma ry.Vargas@faa.gov'
Cc:
Paul Jewell; Obie O'Brien; Laura Osiadacz; Candie Leader
Subject:
RE: FOD
Our consultant (Century West) has been clear with me regarding our ongoing obligations as airport sponsor.
Increasingly, I am educating myself on FAA regulations and airport operations in general. Ever increasingly, I
am addressing long standing issues of concern representing my employer's risk and obligations at the
airport. Some area users are dissatisfied with increasing management from the County. I have attempted to
be responsive to all issues associated with our sponsorship. Recent misinformation from various individuals
has not contributed to a trusting environment between the FAA and ourselves as airport sponsor. Please
understand that I take our obligations very seriously and will continue doing so until all issues of concern are
adequately addressed at the airport. At some point, I welcome a discussion with the FAA regarding our ability
lobbying for sponsorship change. Regards, Cook.
From: Mary.Vargas@faa.gov [mailto:Mary.Vargas@faa.gov]
Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2017 10:16 AM
To: Mark Cook
Cc: Paul Jewell; Laura Osiadacz; Obie O'Brien; Candie Leader; Albert.Atkins@faa.gov; Jennifer.Kandel@faa.gov;
Robert.Ticknor@faa.gov
Subject: RE: FOD
il'Ltrk
1'hank you for your response.
\\'e hope the background information on the airport sponsor's grant assurance was helpful. Last week 1 spoke with Carrera's property manager (west side WA) and it is my
understanding that contractors would be onsite this week beginning hangar repairs. As it appears that is not
