Note the pavement surface is in poor condition and <br />testing means shall not further damage the surface. <br />Deliverable: Multiple testing results, engineering evaluations, and recommendations for <br />inclusion in a final letter report. <br />2. Other Subgrade strength and condition testing <br />Consultant will determine and implement any other additional means to evaluate <br />subgrade strength and condition. Consultant will coordinate any mechanical means or <br />testing laboratory equipment providing sufficient subgrade data for use in future possible <br />runway pavement design. <br />Deliverable: Subgrade test results supporting possible future runway pavement design. <br />3. Runway options <br />Using data collected in tasks 1 and 2 above, along with visual inspection of the runway <br />and relying on the Consultant's experience, Consultant will develop a minimum of three <br />remediation/replace alternatives including but not limited to: <br />• immediate repairs getting the runway back is service for a minimum of one <br />season (spring through fall 2018), <br />• a plan to rubbelize and reuse the existing asphalt as base materials, and repave <br />using class A asphalt (WSDOT pavement specifications), and; <br />• a third plan to perform complete reconstruction using class A asphalt (WSDOT <br />pavement specifications) <br />The consultant will provide a description of each approach that details associated <br />engineering recommendations given the pavement test data collected in tasks 1 and 2. <br />The consultant will also prepare cost estimates for the three alternatives. The runway <br />project area is 60 feet wide and 3,700 feet of length. <br />Deliverable: Rehabilitation recommendations based on pavement test data; and cost <br />estimates for a minimum of three options identified in task 3. <br />4. Letter Report <br />Consultant will provide an electronic copy of the letter report sealed and signed by a <br />licensed professional engineer in the State of Washington. Four printed copies will also <br />be provided. <br />5. Report Presentation Support <br />Consultant will support presentation of results of 7/25 runway evaluation to the Kittitas <br />Board of County Commission at a time and date set by the Board. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
