KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: September 10, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Adopt the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency Flood Maps for Currier <br />Creek <br />BACKGROUND: For the past several years, Public Works has been working <br />to create new regulatory floodplain maps for 7.5 miles of <br />Currier Creek. Nearly a mile of Reecer Creek is also <br />mapped in this effort. The maps became effective on <br />August 17, 2018. FEMA is now requesting Board action <br />on the Letter of Map Revision that will allow Flood Control <br />Zone District staff the ability to regulate to the maps. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the new FEMA maps for 7.5 miles of Currier Creek <br />and approximately 1 mile of Reecer Creek. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution with attached FEMA documents <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
