Project No. 2114-297 -2-
As
2 -
As a temporary measure, Grant PUD contracted for the six portable toilets
currently at the site. Around the time of your May 28 visit to the Vantage Boat Launch
site, two of the units were blown over due to high winds. The portable toilets were
righted and all of the units were secured to the ground to help prevent a similar
occurrence in the future. Grant PUD has contracted with the portable toilet vendor to
replace one of the existing units with an accessible unit.
Grant PUD cleans and stocks the restrooms/portable toilets daily during the
recreation season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) and weekly during the off-season.
The portable toilet vendor checks and pumps the units on a weekly basis. Grant PUD is
providing six portable toilets on the busiest weekends and four units during less busy
periods.
Your allegation was not specific regarding the accessible routes being
inaccessible. The Vantage Boat Launch recreation site has an accessible route
connecting the accessible parking spaces to the restrooms, picnic area, and boat launch,
which has an accessible boarding float. The portable toilets have been placed adjacent to
the existing restroom building along the accessible route. If you wish to provide
additional details regarding accessibility issues at the Vantage Boat Launch site, we may
be able to investigate further.
Since the existing restroom building at the Vantage Boat Launch site has been
temporarily closed due to significant vandalism and adequate temporary sanitation
facilities have been provided in a timely manner, we find that Grant PUD is operating in
compliance with its license.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Mary Karwoski at
(678) 245-3027 or mary.karwoski@ferc.gov.
'. 'tj,
Robert J. Fletcher
Land Resources Branch
Division of Hydropower Administration
and Compliance
