REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON JACOBS ENGINEERING GROUP TASK ORDER NO. 16 FOR THE FAIRVIEW ROAD CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT Mark Cook reported that during routine bridge inspections staff found damage to a structure on Fairview Road. Mark Cook stated that county forces installed steel plates on the damaged areas for a temporary repair and now a permanent repair is necessary. Mark Cook presented a task order for key services for the repairs with Jacobs Engineering Group for Board consideration. Discussion was held. Chairman Osiadacz called for a motion to approve the Resolution presented. Vice -Chairman O'Brien made a motion to approve Resolution 2018-138 Authorizing Chair's Signature on Jacobs Engineering Task Order No. 16 for the Fairview Road Culvert Replacement Project. Commissioner Wright seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. COUNTY ENGINEER HIRING PROCESS DISCUSSION Mark Cook stated that with the departure of the last County Engineer he has been serving as the Interim with assistance from Sara Folk, Engineering Services Manager. Mark Cook added that the past hiring process used involved an interview panel of stakeholders for applicants. Mark Cook is requesting direction moving forward. Discussion was held. Board directed staff to draft a list of stakeholder participants for Board review at the next study session. GRANT COUNTY PUD VANTAGE BOAT RAMP RESTROOM UPDATE Mark Cook gave background on the vandalism that led to the current closure of the restrooms at the Vantage Boat Launch, Mark Cook stated that there is no funding in the budget to support the repairs necessary for reopening of the facilities and staff submitted an application for Public Facilities funding that is currently being scored by the Conference of Governments. Mark Cook added that staff should be noticed in mid-September if the funding will be awarded and this puts repairs to be conducted in Spring 2019. Mark Cook continued that the ongoing maintenance of the facility has been challenging and himself, along with Commissioner O'Brien made a trip to visit with Grant County PUD to come up with some solutions. Mark Cook added that this meeting ended up being conducted with a staff person not the decision makers at Grant County PUD. Mark Cook commented that with the ongoing growth and improvements being done for recreation in the area of Vantage by Grant County PUD he was notified that the County can comment on the pending recreation 2018-08-27 MINUTES
