KITTITAS COUNTY <br />PUBLIC WORKS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY <br />1:30 PM <br />August 27, 2018 <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice -Chairman <br />Obie O'Brien; Commissioner Cory Wright <br />Others: Mark Cook, Sara Folk, Candie Leader, Public Works; Dan <br />Carlson, Stephanie Mifflin, Community Development Services; Jim <br />Goeben, IT <br />At 1:52 pm Chairman Osiadacz opened the Public Works Study <br />Session. Mark Cook requested to add an additional item to the <br />agenda for discussion: G -Suite Accounts for the Flood Control <br />Zone District Advisory Committee and suggested discussing this <br />topic while Jim Goeben from Information Technology was present. <br />Mark Cook stated that the Flood Control Advisory Committee held <br />the first meeting as a Committee where bylaws, projects and the <br />open public meetings act was discussed. Mark Cook continued <br />that members of the Committee are requesting to not use their <br />personal email accounts to conduct Committee business. Mark <br />Cook added that after discussion with staff the option of G - <br />Suite accounts was brought forward. Jim Goeben stated that <br />there is a fee for the service and that it requires Board of <br />County Commissioner approval to authorize the accounts. <br />Discussion was held. Staff was directed to get the accounts set <br />up for use by the Flood Control Advisory Committee to conduct <br />Committee business. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR THE <br />2018 KITTITAS COUNTY SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />Sara Folk stated that bids were opened on the 2018 Kittitas <br />County Safety Improvements Project and five (5) bids were <br />submitted. Sara Folk continued that the lowest bid received was <br />from Frank Gurney, Inc. and was below the engineer's estimate <br />for the project. Discussion was held. Chairman Osiadacz called <br />for a motion to approve the Resolution presented. Vice -Chairman <br />O'Brien made a motion to approve Resolution 2018-137 to Award <br />the Contract for the 2018 Kittitas County Safety Improvements <br />Project. Commissioner Wright seconded said motion. Vice - <br />Chairman O'Brien thanked staff for the good work in securing <br />funding for the project. Motion passed 3-0. <br />2018-08-27 MINUTES <br />
