07/03/2018 MINUTES 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Joann Owens expressed concerns with effects to the property owners and <br />values. She said there are no measurable benefits to Kittitas County, <br />but only negative impacts. <br /> <br />Karen Campbell said there would be reduced revenue to the County from <br />the impacts of the proposed pumping plant. She thought there were flaws <br />in the program and asked the Board to withdraw their support. <br /> <br />Bill Campbell explained how the water would be going to the Roza farmers <br />and would not stay in Kittitas County. He provided concerns relating to <br />the project including impacts to property values, Fire Districts, and <br />urged the Board to oppose the specific project, not the entire YBIP <br />plan. <br /> <br />Delores Gonzales urged the Board to not approve any present or future <br />agreements with immigrations and customs. <br /> <br />Tylene Carnell, Pride Foundation, felt agreements with immigration <br />enforcement in our community only creates fear. She said people are no <br />threat to the community, but rather valuable members. <br /> <br />Todd Mildon, Board President of Central Washington Justice for Friends & <br />Neighbors said they provide legal assistance to immigrants and said they <br />were valuable members of our community and deserve law enforcement <br />protection. <br /> <br />Liz (last name unknown) said the Board needs to make sure the actions <br />they take represent all interests in the community. She encouraged them <br />to make decisions that will allow people to sleep at night and have no <br />distrust in the community. <br /> BOARD DISCUSSION/DECISION ITEMS – NONE MISCELLANEOUS - NONE EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />At 10:41 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz announced the Board would recess into an <br />Executive Session with Dan Carlson, CDS Director for 10 minutes to <br />evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to <br />review the performance of a public employee.
