Form and subgrade inspection by the county is required before the curb and gutter is poured, in <br />accordance with KCC 12.05.02. <br />Monolithic pour of curb and sidewalk will not be allowed unless authorized by the County Engineer in <br />writing, at the discretion of the County Engineer. <br />Rolled curb will be allowed for use in cul-de-sacs with grades that drain toward the approach road in <br />such a manner that water does not flow in the gutter line. <br />12.04.09.060 Driveway Entrances. <br />Where sidewalk is present, driveway entrances shall be constructed of cement concrete and in accordance <br />with the most current edition of WSDOT Standard Plans pertaining to cement concrete driveways. Type <br />selection of cement concrete driveway entrances shall be justified by the most appropriate type given the <br />precedence of other driveway types in the vicinity, grades, expected amount of pedestrian use, and <br />drainage considerations. Type selection shall be subject to the approval of the County Engineer, <br />12.04.09.070 Pedestrian Curb Ramps. <br />All sidewalks must be constructed of barrier -free design consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act <br />(ADA). See KCC 12.04.09.030 of these standards. Pedestrian curb ramps shall be constructed to the most <br />current edition of WSDOT Standard Plans pertaining to cement concrete pedestrian curb ramps. <br />Curb access ramps shall be constructed of Portland Cement Concrete. Form and subgrade inspection by <br />the county is required before the curb and gutter is poured, in accordance with KCC 12.05.02. <br />12.04.09.080 Bicycle Facilities. <br />Bicycle facilities may be allowed when the traffic analysis indicates substantial bicycle usage, which would <br />benefit from a designated bicycle facility as determined by the traffic engineer. <br />The minimum design standards for bikeways shall be as defined in the WSDOT Design Manual, Facilities <br />for Non -motorized Transportation. Other design guidance for bicycle facilities may be utilized only with <br />written acceptance from the County Engineer. <br />12.04.09.090 Trails and Shared Use Paths. <br />Walkways, bikeways, trails, and shared use paths shall be required as identified in the Kittitas County <br />Comprehensive Plan, Regional Transportation Plans, or other approved plans. <br />Non -motorized transportation includes travel by bicyclists, pedestrians, and equestrians. WSDOT and <br />AASHTO design guidance I will be followed for design of bicycle paths, trails and other non -motorized <br />transportation. <br />12.04.09.100 Public Transportation and School Bus Facilities. <br />The affected public transportation agency and the local school district will be notified and invited to review <br />project applications that include a known bus route.
