Application for Capital Improvement Grant Funds - Instructions <br />Eligibility Requirements <br />Based on availability of funds, capital funding may be provided to local governinents and nonprofit organizations to <br />support capital projects that make healtli or safety improvements to agricultural fairgrounds or fair facilities in order <br />to benefitparticipants andthe fair-goingpublic. (RCW 15.76.165) <br />The project for whicli funding is being sought should be completed by June 30, 2019. <br />All applicants WIIO receive graiit funds must follow applicable procrirement procedures. <br />Grant amounts will not exceed $100,000.00 each. <br />Application Process <br />1. Complete one application per project. <br />2. Attach suppoiting documentation (i.e., copies of bids, bid proposals, estimates, pictui-es, etc.). <br />3. You may subinit your docuinents electronically to tnomian@agr.wa.gov. <br />5. If submitting more than one application, rank your application submissions (#l being the most impoitant, #2 <br />tlie next most important, etc.). <br />Review Process <br />1.Applications will be reviewed aiid ranked by the Washington State Fairs Commissioners. <br />2.Preference will be given to those applicants who provide a 50% monetary match to the amount requested <br />or a 50% in-kind matcli, such as donated material or labor. <br />3.Preference will also be given to applicants who will use the money towards a capital improvement to <br />address: <br />4. <br />* a safety and/or health sihiation, or <br />* a legal or statutory requirement. <br />Once grant applications are approved for funding, the Depaitment of Agriculhire will execute an <br />agreement witli the grantee specifying the teims and conditions of tlie grant. <br />5.Certain projects may require consultation with the Deparhnent of Archaeology and Historic Preservation. <br />AGR-5543 iR/1/18]Page 2 of 2
