BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018 -Lffi <br />TITLE: Award Letters to 2018 — 2021 Surface Transportation Block Grant Recipients <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners recently directed award <br />letters be sent to 2018 Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) recipients <br />(Resolution 2018-081) ; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works was recently noticed by the State Department of Transportation <br />(WSDOT) that the County utilized incorrect funding numbers for 2018; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works is now required to obligate an additional $750,000 in project <br />funding by September 2018; and <br />WHEREAS: The STBG technical committee met on May 22, 2018 adding projects to meet <br />WSDOT obligation targets for 2018; and <br />WHEREAS: The technical committee agrees to obligate funding through 2021 to avoid any <br />future confusion about STBG obligation targets; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby direct Public Works to issue grant award letters to STBG <br />recipients for projects added since Resolution 2018-081. <br />DATED this 29th day of May, 2018, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />Attest: <br />x?1"'C1erk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />COM <br />``,j441111111fiirlih�r/1 / <br />l -Dep ter of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />%yam•' � : ���'? <br />C.>, <br />lj777f!! f !
